The Bubonic Plague

Purpose:
Sixteenth-century Eurasia was, in part, shaped by the legacy of the Bubonic Plague. Though it broke out in successive waves in the fourteenth century, the sheer loss of life and the social, political, and economic impact it had on the societies it affected left a shadow for centuries to come. Moreover, world historians argue that the plague was not simply a “natural” event. It did not just have a broad set of consequences, it also unfolded in a particular time and place. And that time and place involved social, economic, and political forces as much as biological and environmental ones.

Task:
Given the impact the Plague had on medieval society if it happened again, how might it impact you, your family, and your society? Bring in your own personal experiences including during the Covid pandemic.
