Analyze a program or service that guides community services for older adults
As the numbers of elderly individuals in the U.S population increases, so do challenges pertaining to policies, programs, and services targeting this population. Identify a program and/or service available to the elderly, providing information on the policy or legislation leading up to the provision of this resource. Does this resource meet its ascribed goals in terms of delivery and effectiveness? What are obstacles to success and how might they be overcome on federal and local levels?
This paper should include the following sections:
- The program/service that you are focusing on, and the target group or affected populations;
- The policy or legislation from which the program/service stems;
- The goals of the program/service that you are focusing on and obstacles to achieving this goal as our population ages, including a detailed discussion of all relevant issues;
- A detailed discussion of all possible alternatives/solutions aimed at addressing obstacles to success (how would you remedy obstacles to effectiveness and success), and;
- A detailed discussion of the alternatives/solutions you would recommend, and why/how these changes would allow the program to meet its stated or ideal goals.
Summarize your analysis and indicate any personal conclusions.
