In this assignment, you are expected to analyze a one-year course plan for a grade 3. Course plans are available on the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum website. For your grade, you are supposed to analyze the proposed content distribution and connections between strands in the course plan. Your analysis should:

1) Explain your interpretation of the proposed content distribution. For example, if number operations are indicated before patterns, explain why this content-specific order could be appropriate for students’ mathematics learning.

2) Explain your interpretation of the proposed connections between different strands.
For example, if decimal numbers are indicated together with financial mathematics, explain why the connection between these two different strands could be relevant for students’ mathematics learning.

3) Suggest modifications to the course plan and explain/justify your thoughts. For example, you could suggest number operations be taught together with measurement, if that is not already the case. Explain why the connection between
these two different strands could be relevant or appropriate for student’s mathematics learning.
