The stripe 2 enhancer of Even-skipped (eve) gene is composed of binding sites for Bicoid (Bcd), Giant (Gt), Hunchback (Hb) and Krüppel (Kr) proteins.
Using information about the stripe 2 eve enhancer provided in lecture slides, predict what will happen in eve gene expression if mutations eliminate one or more binding sites for Kr protein within this enhancer. Assume that you observe the expression pattern of eve gene in embryos homozygous for this mutated enhancer, using in situ hybridization.
