Forensic Storytelling Speeches

PLEASE USE A case study perspective: you look at a single situation that has occurred and give an in depth analysis of the common and unique characteristics and activity. In this you do not have to make the claim that this is what happens in all situations or even most of the time. It is however, what happened here in this particular case. The benefit this approach makes is that you gain an intimate understanding of a single situation. For example, your broad topic of airline accidents may focus on the crash of American Airlines flight 587 on Nov 12, 2001. The details of the crash and the investigation reveal the details of the process of monitoring and investigating airline safety and how we deal with crashes.
A. A forensic speech is one that seeks truth. It deals with material from the past and tries to determine, with the greatest accuracy the following; what happened, why it happened and what impact it has. Forensic speeches are found in courtrooms, boards of inquiry, airplane crash reviews, parents trying to determine which child started the fight and financial audits. Forensic speeches rely primarily on two factors: the presentation of evidence in a clear manner and linking the evidence to the central claim that is made.
B. You have a variety of choices of topics for this. Below you will find some previous topics for these speeches. They can deal with topics of matters dealt with in public [trials inquiries, political reviews…] or topics that are more individual in nature [family matters, sport awards, class grades…]. remember this is a classroom setting. The materiel must be appropriate for the class. Detailed explanations of the crime and the gruesome reality should be avoided. Not everyone is a fan of the blood and guts heinous crime descriptions. if it gets too gruesome i will stop you.
