This second assignment builds from the Theoretical Critical Analysis Paper. Students are to identify a specific marginalized/oppressed population and a social problem they face and design a 10 session, theoretically grounded group work intervention for a specific social problem. Students are to create a group intervention founded on social work group work practice, skills, knowledge and theory. This group must be an original therapy group and clearly illustrate the student’s understanding and knowledge of group work.
Paper Outline:
Description of identified population and issue. Summary of the rationale for selecting this population and problem – based on Assignment 1 (1 page)
Summary of theoretical Rational for the group design – based on Assignment 1 (review attached) including rational for group length (2 pages)
Detailed description/agenda of each group session (5 pages)
