Justin is a 63 year old computer technician who recently completed a wellness checkup with his primary care doctor. The doctor ordered various lab testing on Justin’s blood and focused on the Lipid Panel which includes the results for total cholesterol , the lipoproteins LDL and HDL, and triglycerides. The lab levels are shown are below.

Total cholesterol: 205 mg/dL

LDL: 194 mg/dL

HDL: 41 mg/dL

Triglycerides: 309 mg/dL

Evaluate each of the four values above, and prepare a posting which includes your response to the following:

1. From what you have learned in Chapter 5 about healthy versus unhealthy blood lipid ranges, what is your overall response regarding Justin’s Lipid Panel results? Please include specifics and find evidence from the textbook supporting your position.

2. What are the specific health concerns, if any, related to Justin’s lab results? If so, which lipid(s) is responsible for the concerns? Be specific & thorough. You need to elaborate beyond “high cholesterol increases risk of heart disease.”

3. If you were assigned to counsel Justin about his results, what dietary and lifestyle recommendation would you offer, if any? Defend your position. If making recommendations, please include at least three specific dietary recommendations and two lifestyle recommendations developed to address any concern(s) you identified in #2. (Worth 4 points)

4. What impact would the recommendations you made in Q 3 have upon her lipid profile if Justin was compliant?
