Film analysis prompt – For any four of the films assigned for this semester, you should write a 1-2 page analysis (for a total of 4-6 pages).
You can focus on the theme for the paper related to the films (racism and difference and “buddy” films for essay 3, social collapse and environmental catastrophe and the loss of ethics for essay 4). Or you can find some other focus or argument or theme to write about.
Be specific. Discuss characters’ choices or behaviors, or the setting, or the science, or the psychological or ethical or political effects of the situation, or how people or governments or groups respond to the situations in the film.
This is not a summary or movie review. It doesn’t matter whether you enjoyed the film. Offer a coherent, analytical perspective on the ideas in the film.
