Directions
For this assignment, select a particular print-based popular mainstream media source, such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, or even your local newspaper. Find an article that is of interest to you pertaining to an important recent event (within the last 12-18 months) where you have a strong opinion. Imagine that this particular news agency has asked you to write an opinion-based letter of at least 250-words on the article where you summarize its contents and then offer your particular response to the article.
Specifically, your letter should:
- Create a persuasive thesis in the introduction.
- Compose a summary of the article in the first paragraph.
- Construct a response to the article in your second paragraph.
- Summarize your letter and provide closure in the conclusion.
